Collier's "The Works of George Eliot" in Twelve Volumes; This is volume 6 of the set containing Felix Holt: The Radical; Originally published in 1866, Felix Holt, the Radical is a vivid portrayal of political ferment and corrupt electioneering in a small Midland borough at the time of the Reform Bill of 1832. Holt is pitted against the self-satisfied local landowner Harold Transome, both politically and in his pursuit of Esther Lyon. This specific copy has light edge wear, corners bumped, light wear to the extremities; There is a small square label affixed to the front pastedown indicating that it belonged to a Private Library but no other ex-library markings
