The People's Magazine: An Illustrated Miscellany for Family Reading: January to June 1868 and same July to September 1868 Bound in 1 volume 572 pages; Half pebbled black leather with gilt spine lettering, dark brown cloth on the boards; yellow endpapers are discolored at pastedown points and at exterior edges; boards have wear to extremities, some rubbing, corners bumped hard; raised 5-band binding edges are rubbed as well; interior pages are bright and white, with hundreds of large and small b&w illos and numerous color plates, all well preserved; there is very occasional water staining at the edges of some of the later pages though it never interferes with the text. pages are slightly wrinkled though this appears to be more a cause of the binding rather than moisture damage. no foxing, no tears, no interior soiling; binding in excellent shape, strong, square, tight; hundreds of articles on the arts, sciences, archaeology, exploration, etc. as well as fables, stories, and more.
